Dubai International Airport (DXB) is an international airport serving Dubai. Most people going in and out of United Arab Emirates use this airport. Not only is DXB one of the busiest airports in world, it’s an aviation hub in the gulf and Middle East. 29% of all the flights leaving and entering the Africa or the Middle East were managed over at the Dubai international airport.
Dubai’s international airline, Emirates Airline and Emirates Sky Cargo all run at the Dubai International Airport. A lot of other airlines use DXB as a hub. Currently the airport handles 5,200 flights weekly, operated by over 140 airlines reaching 260 destinations. The airport operates flights to the 5 continents.
Dubai’s Government has already started the construction of a new airport in Jebel Ali which will be name Maktoum International Airport. With the DXB operating, Maktoum International Airport is expected to be the 4th largest airport in the entire world by its covering area. The airport Is expected to start functioning by the year 2017. Once completed the Dubai International airport will be handling 75 million passengers. |
